As you all know, Owen LOVES baseball! The Waukee Parks and Recreation department offered a short pre- T-Ball clinic this fall and I signed Owen up! What made it even more fun was that his little friend, Parker, also got to play!
 |
| Basically, they divided the kids into two groups after stretching and catching practice. Half the kids worked on fielding skills, while the other half hit. They hit off the tee. The first three balls were yellow and the last one was blue. They stayed in place when hitting the yellow balls, but when they hit the blue ball, they were to run to the 'Blast' base that was located halfway between home plate and 1st base. When the kids jumped on it, it squeaked! HILARIOUS! |

| So, again, knowing Owen, you know that he LOVES baseball and watches and plays the game intently! So, running to the 'Blast' base was not enough for him. He had to run past it to first base (because that's what real players do). When the other kids were hitting, they hit the ball, ran to the 'Blast' base then went back in line to hit. Not Owen. He waited on first until the next player hit, then ran to second. Again, he waited for the next hitter and ran to third when the blue ball was hit. And finally ran for home after the next one. We all got a kick out of him! |

| I think he's getting ready to hit again... Can't tell... |
