A couple of months ago, Anna told us that her heart was ready to take First Communion. At our church, kids take First Communion classes sometime between first and fourth grade. So, Dan and I both took Anna to two classes that taught the history of Communion and why we take it. It was very interesting and all of us learned something new! After the classes, Anna received a wooden cross necklace to wear during her First Communion.
Well, tonight was the night! During Maundy Thursday services, Anna took First Communion. She was very excited as we all were!
After service, we took her to her second favorite restaurant. Her first choice was Chipotle, but we made her chose somewhere nicer. :) So, we went to Mimi's Cafe then Menchi's frozen yogurt for dessert to celebrate. While at dinner, we presented her with a small bracelet to commemorate the occasion.
We are so proud of Anna and feel so blessed that God has given her to us to raise. She is a beautiful, sweet girl inside and out. We pray that God continues to bless her her whole life and that He guides her path.
