What a wonderful time of year!! I have to admit I am a little sad that Christmas is tomorrow! We have had such a wonderful Christmas season this year and I really don't want it to end!
We very much miss spending Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with our families back in Kansas, but feel like with young children, the only place to be on Christmas Day is our home. The kids love waking up in their beds and running down the stairs to see if Santa came during the night! They love playing with each toy and helping make our Christmas dinner. We are so thankful that our extended families realize that it's not about the 'day' you have Christmas, but the people you share the holiday with that makes it special! So very thankful that they wait for us to celebrate! It means more to us than anyone realizes (especially since we don't live in the same state anymore)...
One new tradition that we have is going to Christmas Eve service at our wonderful church, HOPE. Tonight, we went to the candlelight service and it was so special. While the service was incredible as always, I was reminded of something so basic... That the beautiful bright light of Jesus can overcome any darkness and it can never be extinguished! I felt such joy and love watching my precious babies holding their own candles singing "Silent Night" in a darkened sanctuary watching in awe as the room slowly lit up with all the light from the flames...
My hope for everyone this holiday season is that you find the true meaning of Christmas in your heart. I want you to know that Jesus was born for you and His light shines for you!!
We also were so lucky to have some great friends to eat Christmas Eve dinner with! Hopefully, it will be a new tradition!!
Here are a few pictures from our evening before and after church!
I told Owen he could have his hair any way that he wanted it as long as he just got it done! He chose a mohawk of all things! :)
I had to throw this in - Owen did this (of course)...
They wanted to sleep in the same room tonight!
They are both so excited!!
Merry Christmas Eve!!
