Overheard at the Twedt House...

It's been an interesting couple of weeks around here... We're just trying to get through the cold winter months, which means we're around each other a lot!!

We thought we'd share a couple of things we've heard recently and then we have to brag on Anna...

I LOVE the Biggest Loser show!  LOVE it!! Most of the time I DVR it and then watch it after the kids go to bed.  Recently, I watched it while Owen was playing on floor.  So, last week, Owen says to me out of the blue, "I think you should go on the Biggest Loser so you can be straight and not round."  I laughed out loud.  He's got a point!

So, as I said, Owen and I have been around each other a lot this winter (especially since I had influenza A not once, but twice)!! A few weeks ago, he really started being naughty - throwing fits (on the floor), crying when he didn't want to go somewhere we needed to go.  You name it, he was trying it.  I don't know what was going on with him, but luckily my normal Owen is back.  But, one day as we were in the car a couple of hours after I had gotten extremely upset with him, I told him that when he's being as naughty as he'd been acting I feel like he doesn't love me as much.  He spoke right up, "You know mommy that you love me even when I'm bad.  Well, I love you even when I'm being naughty." Boy, he's smart.

One last thing... Anna has truly enjoyed playing basketball.  This is her first year playing and she is growing more and more confident.  We are really proud of her and she just tries as hard as she can.  The last two games, a few of her teammates have been gone, so the other girls get more time on the court.  This last game, she volunteered to play all but five minutes.  This is SO unlike Anna.  She usually is the one that wants a break.  She even recently told us that she thinks she found the "thing" that she loves.  She also asked if maybe someday she could play at Allen Fieldhouse (wouldn't that be awesome)!?!! We are very proud of her - and just to brag on our little basketball player, here is what her coach sent us in an email this week, "By the way, Anna played very well the last game, she was very aggressive which was the key to winning that game."
