Sigh... Christmas is Over

This time of year is always hard for me... I always get so excited for the Christmas season. Usually, I'm the first on the block with my Christmas decorations out and I'm the first with presents under the tree. Then, as soon as Christmas is over, I'm ready for the tree to come down and the lights to be put back in their boxes. It's time for the New Year, the new "me" (never happens), and a fresh start. But, then I look back at December and at Christmas and wonder what happened to it all...

But you see this Christmas was different, though. We didn't get too wrapped up in the hustle and bustle of it all. We didn't have money for a lot of gifts, but we had a lot of time to do things with the kids. We spent night after night driving around and looking at lights, we talked about the meaning of Christmas, we spent time with friends, we enjoyed being together. Even though, we didn't get to stay the night at Crown Center like we usually do, we still went and enjoyed the trains at Union Station and still saw the Plaza lights. It sounds like we were busy, but somehow we weren't. We just learned to take each day nice and easy and slow...

As for gifts... We truly, truly have some wonderful friends and family. In fact, they are our true gifts this year. So, thank you...
