Front Tooth Part Two

And so it goes... the other one is gone now too.

It all started this morning at VBS when Anna ate her pretzel snacks. She bit down wrong and directly on the remaining front tooth. It started bleeding and she needed an ice pack to get through the rest of the morning. Then, on the way to swimming lessons, she bit down again and wouldn't you know, hit her tooth. This time, it was hanging partially down at an angle.

I kept trying to get her to let me pull it this afternoon, but we all know Anna... no pain - ever - please...

Finally, right before dinner we told her we needed to get it out just in case she might happen to swallow it. So, she slowly walked over to me, shoulders hunched, crying just a bit. She was scared it was going to hurt and kept pleading with me to not pull hard.

I got a wet washcloth and told her I was just going to look at it and would not pull it. I did just that to gain her confidence. Then, I just put my fingers around it and asked if I could pull it. She was full on crying now --- yes, but please don't pull hard and please don't make it hurt.

I pulled it out gently and would you believe she didn't feel a thing? Not one thing. She had no idea I pulled it out. So, with Dan holding her hand, I asked her again if I could pull it out and she said yes, but don't hurt me. I asked if she was sure and she said yes and again, don't hurt me. Dan and I laughed pointed to the table and she immediately saw her tooth sitting there.

Hysterically, she started laughing that the tooth was right beside on the table and she had been crying about it not hurting... It was a crack up and really had us all laughing...

So without further ado, Anna, with no front top teeth!! The pictures didn't come out as well as I had hoped, so I will do my best to post some new ones soon!

Anna's new look... hard to smile just so...
