Weekend Fun!!

This past weekend, we were invited by our neighbors to go to their parent's lake house for some sledding and family fun! It was us, their family of four and another friend's family of six!

We had a lot of fun; eating, playing games, watching the kids play together, relaxing, dancing to fun music, sledding and tubbing (hot-tubbing). We originally were going to come back home on Sunday, but we had so much fun sledding and playing, we stayed an extra day.

Back in Ks, we didn't ever really have a lot of snow, so sledding wasn't really something we did a lot of. With the kids, we even just stayed in our front yard, which most of you know, was not steep at all. Well, this hill was steep and the path ran right into the very frozen lake which was also covered in snow. We all had a ball! Dan went airborne once and then hit a little tree (well, kind of little) with his hip. He's a bit sore to say the least. One really fun run was the six girls on a huge toboggan. I was in the back because, well because I was a little frightened. You can hear me screaming almost the entire way down the hill on the video.

A couple of final fun facts... This is the FIRST time I've ever walked on a frozen body of water. Second, I've never seen a snow mobile in person, and we got to see some on the lake (I really want to drive one now). Finally, I think I might actually get some snow pants and consider snow skiing. I've never done that and I had so much fun sledding this weekend, I might actually try it.
