Is It Just Me...

Is it just me, or are my two favorite little people growing up too fast? It's a rainy day out today, not to mention a bit on the cold side. After getting Owen from preschool, we came home to play some indoor catch, have some lunch and just sit. He wanted to watch Caillou, his new favorite show (of the week), and I just wanted to sit and be with him.

As we were sitting there, I tried to remember when he was really little - like when he was a little baby. I see the baby pictures of both kids and I just don't remember them ever being so tiny. Of course, I remember bits of pieces when they were that little - like Anna's first holidays when I wouldn't let anyone else hold her - didn't want anyone to break her you know...

I remember holding them when they were born, their little bodies fitting perfectly in my arms.

I remember Anna when she was a toddler and preschooler and taking her to the park, for storytime, gymnastics, for playdates... And I do the same for Owen now.

I remember holding them both when they were babies at church. I know I should have put them in the nursery, but it was such a wonderful, fulfilling feeling to hold them swaying to the music and looking down at them with such thankfulness that they were in our lives.

And soon, she's going to be a second grader and Owen's going to go to big boy preschool.

I asked Anna today as she got home from school if she remembered all the things we used to do when she was little, like going to the Library. She didn't. She said she remembered being happy. I guess that's the best I can ask for...

Goodness, I love these guys...
